The holiday started well – went down to visit
The following day, Sunday, I visited
On Monday, we hung out and I cadged musical advice. We had planned to do something a bit more than that, and run over some of my material but my voice simply wasn’t up to it. Monday evening I drove back to
The drive home was uneventful, but by the time I got in through the door, my shirt was soaked, and I was shaking. I sent folk an email to say I had arrived safely, and went to bed.
Today, I have been a little better. At lunchtime, I actually managed to walk to the shops to get groceries, although I am not sure how I made it back. All afternoon, I’ve been dozing on the sofa, comfortably, but when I tried to go to bed, I was only lying down for a while before the coughing started again. I may try going downstairs on the sofa again, as I seem to rest fairly ok when I am sitting up.
It sounds like you made the right decision in going home, and I hope you feel better quickly. Although I’m sorry we didn’t get the time we were hoping for, we’ll make another opportunity. Get well soon.
Ugh. Sounds most unpleasant. I hope you’re feeling better soon.
I had a fairly decent night last night. Decided to try the bed and a solution which my CPAP doctor does not recommend, but I have found effective – a drop or two of Olbas oil in the CPAP hose before I turn it on.
This sends a wave of clove and eucalyptus fumes straight into my head, allowing me to breath sufficiently to get to sleep. I woke up about 5am, but another shot allowed me to sleep through to 10am, and feeling pretty fine about it.
Within an hour of being up again, I was back to my normal coughing and sneezing. But at least I got some sleep.
I definitely was brain-dead during my shopping trip yesterday. The actual reason for going was to get some more lem-sip, tissues and bog-rolls, all of which I was running short of. I came back with goodies and food to tide me over the next few days, but none of the above. Guess I need to make another trip – the fresh air will do me no harm.
Uh – but the rain might – guess I’ll take the car!
