I may regret this later…

Had a pretty busy weekend, but managed to make time for some gardening.

After the Great Brassica Disaster of 2008, where I failed to harvest a single cabbage/broccoli/cauliflower, I swore that I would never grow them again.

However, I was looking around one of the local garden centres, and came across some nice and healthy pak choi plants. As I knew these have fairly shallow roots, I decided that a 6 plant pack would be perfect for filling a space in my new bed, which currently only has 9 inches of soil to work with.

Getting home, and looking them up on the web, told me something that I should have known. Pak Choi are of the brassica species. Since then I have compounded the situation by buying some brussels sprout plants (which I love). Will I never learn?

Currently the Pak Choi are happily protected by a cloche, and I have planted the sprouts in a grouping that should be relatively easy to net.

    Well, hopefully the curse will be distracted by the *obvious* brassicas and overlook your pak choi. Sounds like a good strategy to me. =:o}
